How the size split works

The split uses the same planning curves as the blankup quote form and the size breakdown guide. Pieces are shared out so the sizes always add up to the order total, with any leftover going to the middle of the run first.

Real sizes always beat a curve. The size breakdown guide explains when to collect them instead. For a repeat group, a blankup workspace can collect each person's size with a link, and the size guide has the measurements for each blank.

How spares are calculated

These are the rules a blankup workspace uses for recommended spares. Groups under 24 people get a proportionate spare with no pack rounding instead, and "Exact headcount" orders the headcount only, raised to the 3-piece minimum per design and color for apparel.
Sized apparel (tees, hoodies, crewnecks)
About 5% extra and at least 6 pieces, then rounded up to a multiple of 6. A sized garment cannot be re-run for one person, so the spare covers size guesses as well as damage.
One-size apparel (caps, beanies)
About 4% extra and at least 4 pieces, then rounded up to a multiple of 6. One size fits most, so the spare only covers damage and late additions.
Accessories (lanyards, bags, bottles)
About 5% extra and at least 5 pieces, then rounded up to a multiple of 25. Accessories come in packs, so the spare covers loss on the day.
Giveaways (stickers, pins)
About 15% extra and at least 25 pieces, then rounded up to a multiple of 50. Giveaways get taken by the handful, so the spare is larger.
