How the minimum counts

The 3-piece minimum applies to each design in each garment color. Sizes inside it can be anything.
  • Black hoodies with one logo, in S, M and L

    • Black3

    Meets the minimum, 3 pieces

  • The same print on white tees and black tees

    • White10
    • Black10

    Meets the minimum, 20 pieces

  • Attendee tees, plus staff tees in a second design

    • Attendee20
    • Staff4

    Meets the minimum, 24 pieces

  • One logo on navy hoodies and gray hoodies

    • Navy4
    • Gray2

Add one gray hoodie, or make all six navy.

Choosing a decoration for a small run

On a short run, the decoration method shapes the price more than anything else. Your quote recommends one for your artwork.
  • DTG printing

Full-color and photographic artwork with no screen setup and no color-count limit, which suits a short run.

  • DTF transfers

Full-color transfers that stay opaque on dark garments, polyester and blends, with no screens and no per-color setup.

  • Embroidery

Stitched logos for hoodies, quarter-zips and hats. You approve a digitized proof before anything is stitched.

  • Screen printing

Best for simple one or two color art. Each ink color has its own screen setup, so it gets better value as the run grows.

Who orders small runs

Founders and small teams
A matching hoodie or quarter-zip for everyone on the team, without a pile of extras nobody wears.
Club officers and cabinets
Officer pieces in their own design, ordered beside the general member run or on their own.
Event staff and volunteers
A short staff run in a second design next to a larger attendee order, so the crew is easy to spot.
Client and partner gifts
A handful of embroidered pieces for the people you work with most.
A first run of a new design
A small first order to see a design worn before you decide how many more to make.
New starters and late sign-ups
A few more of an existing design when people join, through the reorder page.

What shapes the price of a small run

Setup is shared by fewer pieces
Setup work is spread across every piece in a run, so a small run costs more per piece than a large one. What stays small is the total.
Decoration method
DTG and DTF avoid per-color screens, which often matters more on a short run than the choice of garment.
Colors and placements
Each garment color is its own run, and each extra print location adds setup. One color and one placement keep a small order simplest.
The blank
Heavier fleece and premium tees cost more than lighter basics. Each style page lists its exact GSM.

For worked cost factors by garment, see the t-shirt cost guide and the hoodie cost guide.
